Latvian Railways Recalled

More than a hundred rail enthusiasts enjoyed a week of good fun and friendship on the railways of Latvia, travelling in our own four-coach train. Our presence aroused plenty of interest from the locals wherever we travelled; not many Latvians being used to rail enthusiasts and not often used to seeing passenger trains on the freight lines we covered. However, we were always treated with friendship and good nature, never more so than during the visit to Daugavpils motive power depot, one of the highlights of the tour.
